H.D. Stone – 
Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Writer, Editor

H.D. Stone, founding Producer/Director of Blue Djinn Studios and Blank Canvas ATX, creates films that are rooted in his belief in the transformative power of stories and humor. Stone Executive Produced the short film Molly, which screened at SXSW 2014 and LA Film Fest 2014. Other credits include directing/producing music videos for several Austin bands (Blastfamous USA, Fort Never, Stanley Roy, Adrian and the Sickness) At the 48 Beats Per Minute 2007 competition, his film won 7 awards, including Best Video. In 2017, his short “Manhunt” won Portland’s Shorty-Short Queer Film Festival. His work has ranged from corporate videos for Silicon Labs as their in-house Video Director to music videos and art films.


Heather Barfield – Producer/Director

Ph.D. in Theater/Performance Studies (UT Austin), M.A. in Performance Studies (NYU),  B.A. in Anthropology (UT Austin). Barfield also studied at NYU’s Tisch Undergraduate Film/TV.  She is a producer/director, performer, writer and applies her enthusiasm for anthropology, new media, popular culture, and social justice issues in her art. Her work includes raw and experimental filmmaking, performance art, feminist theory, ritual theory, and the necessity of solid arts management.


Justine Spinoza – Cinematographer and Editor

Justine Spinoza, Co-Creative Director/Videographer/Editor, received a B.S. in Broadcasting from Southeastern University in Florida and is an Apple Certified Final Cut Pro instructor. Spinoza is the editor and a camera operator for local show Songwriters Across Texas. She is cinematographer/editor for the locally produced telenovela, Mundos Diferentes, on Telemundo; she is camera operator and editor for travel website and blog: www.fabplacez.com; and she works as a professional editor, camera op, and director for Austin’s North Door venue.

Andrew Morton – Designer, Illustrator, Animator, Writer, CG Effects

Andrew is the Art Director and all-around Artistic Ninja of Blue Djinn Studios. Working in all mediums and styles, his art ranges from strangely funny to alarmingly dark. He’s a self-taught Community College drop-out with versatility and drive to be the best at everything he does.


Ryan Patrick Payne – Composer, Musician, Sound Designer

Patrick Ryan Payne (Sound Designer) is the Owner/Operator of AlmaJane recording studio in Round Rock, TX. He holds degrees in Arts and Commercial Music Management. He often works on music recordings, but also works in post, foley, and voice overs. In addition, he is a musician and songwriter who enjoys playing guitar, bass, and singing. He lives in Round Rock, Texas with his wife and son.
